Welcome! I'm delighted you're reading my first blog entry. I'm going to be blogging about any and all interesting issues that come across my path in the world of translation and language teaching. I think learning and interacting with foreign languages is probably more important now than it's ever been. Subjects that interest me include foreign languages as a way of experiencing other cultures and understanding different perspectives, the challenges of translating different kinds of texts, the philosophy and neurology of language, research on translation and works in translation.
